Welcome

Welcome to the new Central New York aviation news blog. This blog will deal with primarily with aviation news and events from the Syracuse and Utica-Rome NY, areas as gleaned from personal observations, Flightaware.com, and local news reports. Things like accidents, new service, diversions, charters, ferry flights etc will be the primary topics covered.

The Utica-Rome/Oneida County Airport located at the former Griffis airforce base currently has no commercial air service but does recieve charters and planes that are ferried there for maintenace by Empire Aero.
